ROLE:                    HEAD OF STRATEGIC PLANNING

LOCATION:             SHERWOOD/SUTTON IN ASHFIELD

DURATION:             6 Months Initially with possible extension

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

KEY REQUIREMENT 1 - PROCESS
- Service line (clinical specialty) strategic plans that determine the future for each of the Trust's clinical services for the 3-5 year time horizon;
- Divisional annual plans that reflect the operational priorities for each clinical division and which in turn reflect, and are prepared with the backdrop of, corporate and service line strategies;
- Elements of the Trust Annual Report that give a retrospective account of the delivery of key aspects of strategic and operational plans and provide opportunities for reflection on what has worked well and areas for improvement in respect of future delivery.

KEY REQUIREMENT 3 - IMPLEMENTATION AND PARTNERSHIP

- In order for strategic planning to be meaningful, there needs to be rigorous and comprehensive delivery against the outcomes described.
- For some key aspects of the corporate strategy, to be determined in conjunction with the Director of Strategic Planning and Commercial Development, the post-holder will take responsibility for implementation.  This will utilise project management and operational delivery skills that the post holder will have developed during the course of their career.
