Head of Recruitment Operations

*To lead a proactive, effective and efficient recruitment service to ensure the recruitment of excellent leaders, teaching, and operational staff. This will involve working in partnership with academies and the education team to develop successful recruitment strategies that enhance our employer brand and attract and select the highest quality candidates.
*To collaborate with the Head of Principal Recruitment as required.

Key responsibilities

*To deliver an effective and value-adding recruitment strategy and ensure its contribution towards the wider HR strategy.
*Lead the recruitment team to develop and deliver value adding practices and initiatives which support the recruitment of high quality staff.
*To be personally responsible for managing recruitment at any academies with particularly challenging circumstances.
*To ensure that recruitment procedures support business objectives and comply with the Recruitment and Selection Policy.
*Identify new opportunities for media advertising and manage the relationship with existing suppliers to renegotiate more favourable terms where possible.
*Develop communications in order to improve relationships with pipeline/potential candidates.
*Manage and develop key recruitment partnerships.
*Lead all aspects of the recruitment process to ensure that high standards of candidate selection are maintained.
*Interview and assess senior candidates through interviews and other appropriate selection methods.
*To deliver training in recruitment and selection process to embed good practice across the network.
*Ensure that post selection processes are conducted thoroughly, consistently, and in line with policy (in particular focusing on pre employment checks and contracts).
*Regularly review recruitment activity and identify priorities for current and future campaigns.
*Provide timely and accurate recruitment activity reports.
*Manage a team and exercise good people management practices, particularly with regard to performance management and career development.

Knowledge and experience
*Experience of working at a senior level in an in-house/internal recruitment team or recruitment agency.
*Knowledge of, and preferably, experience of the schools/education sector.
*Demonstrable knowledge of UK employment law related to recruitment and selection.
*Experience of managing a budget.
*Successful track record in operating at both operational and strategic level, including policy development and implementation.
*Experience of developing and delivering assessment centres.
*Practical knowledge of recruitment systems and databases.
*Experience of working in a complex, multi-site environment (desirable).
*Experience of job evaluation (desirable).
