Head of Purchasing (m/f)

AUFGABEN

- Responsible for leading the Purchasing function across multiple sites. Working with the Commodity managers, lead the purchasing of New Product Introduction activities, and drive changes to the current supplier base and purchased parts, to reduce costs and risk in the supply chain.
- Create policies and procedures to cover all areas of procurement, to achieve our goal to use a global supply base
- Ensure SAP is expanded across the Purchasing team, for common processes, and data extracts
- Lead the team of Project Buyers on New project Introductions
- Produce reports as necessary on the status of projects, for the supplier base, both financially and risk based
- Work with the Commodity managers, to develop and increase/decrease the supplier base accordingly to meet our needs as a global organisation
- Be responsible for the effective management of supplier tooling, and supplier revenue expense, reporting the benefits against target
- Prioritise the workload of the project buyers, to introduce new projects, and in parallel effectively manage projects to reduce the costs of the current supply chain
- Liaise with the commodity manager team, and the supplier quality team to effectively manage the supplier base to ensure targets are in line with budget
- Work with purchasing organisation based in developing markets, to develop best practices across Sensors to deliver benefits to the supply chain
- Accountable for the preparation and management of the budget process for the Purchasing team and deliver or exceed targets in line with budget
- Responsible for developing the purchasing team
- Contribute towards costing models for new business quotation and predevelopment activities
- To support the Global procurement Director and deputise in their absence

QUALIFIKATIONEN

- Ideally degree level or equivalent
- Proven experience within a global supply chain function
- Background in high volume manufacturing, preferably Electronic or Automotive
- Proven leadership skills
- Ability to communicate at all levels and across functions
- Results driven and must be cost focused with attention to detail with a, strong personality to influence and deal with nternal and external customers
- Excellent written and spoken English is essential
- Demonstrate strong leadership, analytical, influencing and decision-making skills
- Knowledge of SAP Systems
- Flexible to work for abroad, and ability to travel at short notice
