Head of Project Support

Eingestellt von National Trust

Gesuchte Skills: Support

Projektbeschreibung

Here at the National Trust, the UK's leading conservation charity, we spend over £100m a year on projects to deliver our core purpose - looking after special places, forever, for everyone. We are passionate about our core purpose, so it is really important to us that these projects are well managed, and that they deliver the public benefit that lies at the heart of our cause.

As Head of Project Support, our project management processes will be in your hands. We have some big questions which you will help us to answer, by offering specialist advice and guidance on projects and programmes. For example, are we using resources and budgets as effectively as possible? Are projects helping us achieve our strategy? How can we make sure all of our projects run smoothly?

You will lead our Project Support Office, providing a range of services to help us get the best from our projects. These include managing the process for allocating project budgets through our annual planning round; overseeing our projects approvals process; monitoring delivery of projects; and ensuring we capture learning from benefits reviews. In addition, you'll take the lead in helping grow our capability in project and programme management and will act as functional lead to our senior project managers.

This role is based on a two year fixed term contract.

About you

Coming to us, you'll bring a wealth of project management support experience. A leader by example, you'll be as confident building relationships with stakeholders as you are inspiring and mentoring your colleagues. You know project practices inside-out, have a deep understanding of project management frameworks, tools and techniques, and you've delivered them in large, complex organisations such as ours. We'd like you to have a degree and ideally, a project management or business qualification. Commercially aware and with a finger firmly on the financial pulse, you'll also be an expert in using budgeting and financial systems, and you know how to manage and control risks. You've all the right skills and also the enthusiasm and creativity to make things happen, and get things done.

Incredibly rewarding

We expect a lot, but we'll offer a great deal in return, starting with stimulating and challenging work and the opportunity to help us achieve our ambitions. This is a demanding role, but we recognise the importance of a work-life balance, and are committed to your continued development. You can also look forward to free admission to all our incredible places, plus a helpful 20% off at our shops, cafes and restaurants.

About us

Here at the National Trust, we want even more people to enjoy our extraordinary places, spaces and collections. We want people of all ages and backgrounds to get involved with them, be inspired by them, and love them as much as we do. That's why we've put some bold ambitions in place. We want everyone in England, Wales and Northern Ireland to feel like a member of the National Trust and, by 2020, we want to have grown our membership to more than five million.
