Head of Primary Care

HEAD OF PRIMARY CARE

Associate Head of Primary Care required for a government department in Bristol for 4 months. This role is offering up to £600 per day.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Support the development of effective strategy and operational policies for promoting innovation, working closely with colleagues across the sector
- Drive the strategy for supporting and ensuring alignment across the system
- Develop and communicate the image for the role of innovation, and the development of strategy and operational policies to support this vision
- Engage with key strategic regional and national policy makers to inform development of strategy and policies
- Cultivate and champion new initiatives and projects, working with providers and clinical experts to design new training products
- Enable clinical leadership and ensure that this is central
- Aid patient and public involvement and act as a champion for patients and their interests at all levels of decision making
- Ensure all public and patient contact with the office is of the highest professional standard
- Promote equality and reducing inequalities, upholding organisational policies and principles on the promotion of equality
- Create an inclusive working environment where diversity is valued and everyone can contribute
- Model a collaborative and influencing style of working, negotiating with others to achieve the best outcomes and work effectively with all key stakeholders across the area
- Monitor, interpret and quality assure progress against deliverables
- Develop business plans and provide expert strategic and policy advice
- Manage and support the development of individuals and the team through appraisal, personal development planning, coaching and mentoring

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

- Primary Care contracting experience
- Ability to communicate effectively with people within different roles
- Evidence of post qualifying and continuing professional development eg Post graduate diploma or equivalent experience or training as well as further specialist knowledge or experience to master's level equivalent
- Understanding of the background to and aims of existing healthcare policy and appreciate the effects of this on engagement
- Knowledge of the relationship between health departments, individual provider and commissioning organisations
- Experience of major project design and delivery
- Track record of executing initiatives which cross organisational boundaries
- Involvement with delivering performance and service improvement
- Familiarity with emergency or resilience systems
