HEAD OF PEOPLE DEVELOPMENT

A fantastic senior opportunity to be the Head of People Development for a leading mobile operator. They are looking for someone to lead a team to define, design and deliver all of the people development goals within the People Strategy to support the achievement of the company's brand and company plan. The successful candidate will engage with Business Leaders, motivating their team to drive and deliver the people development strategy with energy and belief.

The role is being offered on a contract basis with a senior daily rate and will be located in the company's Berkshire office.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

- Take accountability for defining, designing, delivering and embedding the people development strategy, for all levels of employees up to Director.
- Provide expertise in the full spectrum of organisational development activities, including; competencies; leadership development; L talent and performance solutions.
- Provide credible and confidential development support to the Business Director team.
- Provide expert leadership on internal stakeholder management and demonstrate sound consultancy and facilitation skills.
- Provide clear direction and inspirational leadership to your function, developing proactive teams who work collaboratively to deliver quality results for the business.
- Promote the People Operating Model and lead the team to work effectively within the model.
- Build clear processes and appropriate governance that delivers quality business results.
- Plan and manage headcount costs, department structures and operating budgets.
- Accountable for delivery of key KPIs within the People Strategy.
- Set high standards of supplier, contract and vendor management and lead the function in developing high value return on investment through quality relationships and governance processes.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

- Held senior leadership positions within Learning and Development in a fast paced environment. Experience within the telecoms industry would be beneficial but is not essential.
- Experience of transforming organisations to adopt blended 70/20/10 learning strategies and ways of working.
- Experience of building development strategies from frontline induction to executive development and across all grades.
- Have transformed and built Learning and Development teams, led structure changes or continual improvement to structure.
- Experience of leadership, coaching and board level development.
- Familiar with planning and managing headcount costs, department structures and operating budgets.
