Head of Payments and International Trade Finance

An immediate opportunity has arisen for an experienced Head of Payments and International Trade Finance to join our client, a leading investment bank based in London

Key responsibilities of the Head of Payments and International Trade Finance will include:
-To develop, maintain and monitor product proposition for a specific business area and segment which can achieve the income and volume targets agreed with the business
-To advise the business on product and pricing strategies and actively drive the design and development of these
-To continually assess the performance of the product range, the regulatory landscape and external market trends and developments to ensure we make the customer proposition as effective as possible,
-To initiate and make informed and sustainable recommendations to the Head of Product area, Marketing Director, and Senior leaders within the business units, across the specific product range to recommend innovations, improvements and interventions and to maintain the compliance of our product range
-To provide insight and support for senior management interactions with industry, regulatory and governmental groups for your specific product segment
-To develop effective and collaborative working relationships with key business/functional stakeholders, to support their drive for exceptional performance through the provision of an effective product set, as well as contributing to pricing strategies and the review and maintenance of these.
-To act as a centre of excellence for the overall product range in your area and it's fit with the wider W&G product offering and strategy based on a deep understanding of customer needs and market trends and developments in the financial services sector
-To ensure the balance between customer journey and needs is always considered in design, decisions and timescales alongside business strategy and profit and pricing requirements.

The ideal Head of Payments and International Trade Finance will possess the following attributes/skills:

-Strong product management skills within International Trade Finance (import finance, export finance, letters of credit, documentary credit)
-Banking background
-Strategic and operational focused
-Strong commercial and financial acumen
-Proven track record within a fast paced Financial Services environment, leading and delivering high quality, complex projects and working effectively across business units and functions, while managing risks, issues, stakeholders, employees and governance requirements
-An understanding of the current offering for the products to be supported would be an advantage, although not essential
-Highly experienced in managing stakeholders effectively, building trust and rapport and leveraging relationships for the benefit of the customers and the business
-Proven leadership and people management capability, with the ability to motivate, develop and inspire direct reports and colleagues while ensuring all agreed objectives and timescales are met.
-Demonstrates enthusiasm, energy, drive and commitment to the role and the organisation and its values.
-Educated to degree level or equivalent relevant experience in a numerate (preferably business or marketing) discipline
-Well developed understanding of the regulatory and compliance requirements of the Financial Services Industry and of the specific product set/business areas to be supported
-Highly numerate with excellent analytical capabilities and experience of monitoring and tracking budgets and targets
