Head Of Market Surveillance Needed at Leading FS Provider

In particular they are looking for a new Global Head of Market Surveillance to enhance the surveillance and monitoring of their trading platfrom and discourage predatory pricing and other forms of market abuse.

The successful applicant is expected to create a Surveillance function that focuses on routine and ad hoc reviews of market activity from a real-time trading and post-trade perspective.

The surveillance function will be responsible for reviewing possible market abuse, disruptive behaviour and non compliance of existing quoting / dealing rules and guidelines concerning market making initiatives.

As Head of Surveillance, your responsibilities will include:
* Reporting and enforcing existing dealing rules
* Developing new guidelines and rules as the business evolves
* Monitoring trends / patterns and creating a consultative process to deal with disruptive behaviour
* Monitoring throughput and associated violations to understand where adjustments must be made or concerns raised
* Working with the IT team to specify tools and technology to automate surveillance and create 'circuit breakers'as the market requires

Key Skills/Experience Required:

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the FSA regulations to help maintain a fair and orderly market. The person must have a strong understanding of the FX business including assoicated asset classes such as NDFs and Forwards. It is essential that that the successful candidate understand buy and sell side strategies. The person must have proven management and leadership skills as well as experience working with multiple business areas at senior levels.

Location: City of London

Salary: £100k - £130k
