Head of Market Insight - Commercial or Retail

Our client is currently recruiting for a Head of Market Insight to work in Southampton, Hampshire.

The established Head of Market Insight will have the ability to define and drive strategy forward by working closely with the business to present and will have strong experience within commercial or retail sector.

The strong Head of Market Insight will be able to promote customer insight to identify against competitor analyse and market trends.

You will be responsible for 3-4 direct reports including 1-1's and appraisals.

Main Skills:

Deliver market data and insight with a 1-3 year outlook across the organisation to support the delivery of the wider business and strategic goals

Define and communicate market requirements leading the business to understand market opportunities, driving product development, P&L and customer strategy aligned to internal capability, measuring revenue opportunities and influencing revenue growth

Drive product investment to reflect market sector requirements with projected revenue and target sectors informing the business case and customer propositions

Monitor and analyse market trends and business of competitors/market using primary and secondary research techniques to develop market insights that enable the business to gain key strategic advantages, across product and service delivery. Specifically, help the business to understand the what: what should we do about it

Develop the market insights plan and provide high quality insight inputs into the marketing planning/strategy process. Also consider potential acquisition targets, monitoring and tracking opportunities.

Deliver an insight plan and market research/data programme which generates market understanding, solutions analysis and actionable findings for the relevant products and services and sectors.

Seek out best practice and innovative market research and data approaches to deliver best insights.
