Head of Learning Disability and Independent Living Services

I am currently looking for an interim Head of Learning Disability and Independent Living Services for a London Borough. This role is to lead and manage operational social work and OT assessment and care management services for disabled people within Adult Social Care to meet statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

* Through Service Managers, to manage the Adult Learning Disability, Transition, and Autism Service, Social Care OT, and directly managed provider services, including the Borough's Resource Centre, residential respite unit, and the developing Centre of Excellence for Dementia.
* To work in collaboration with colleagues from education, children's services, the NHS, voluntary and community services and commissioning in order to develop the lifelong Pathway for learning disabilities and autism, ensuring effective transition planning and support and preparation for adulthood.
* To lead on the integration of social care services for which the postholder is responsible with NHS provider functions across acute and community services. To work in collaboration with health and social care service providers to strengthen community services to ensure more people are supported to live at home with self directed and peer support.
