Head of Information Security - Contract

OUR CLIENT, A LARGE BANKING ORGANISATION, IS CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR AN INTERIM HEAD OF INFORMATION SECURITY WITHIN THEIR GROUP FUNCTION.

The candidate will be the functional leader for information security, and will play a key role in shaping operating models and influencing key stakeholders, while also playing a major role in business decision making. This is an opportunity to join a large function at a senior level, and to help continue to improve this division of the bank.

KEY ROLES AND SKILLS;

- Lead, develop and maintain a motivated team of deep specialists ensuring that these key resources are continually applied to the Group's most significant risks within area of specialism.
- Formulate, recommend, obtain agreement and subsequently direct implementation of specialist strategies, plans, policies, standards, practices and procedures taking into account business needs, external best practice and regulatory requirements.
- Drive the initiation, design, development and implementation of new/redesigned processes, information, documentation and supporting materials ensuring changes are fully communicated and understood by interested parties.
- Recommend and obtain agreement to ensure that risk based assurance programmes are established, implemented and tracked to enable timely closure of issues and effective risk mitigation
- Ensure risk based controls are established and maintained to mitigate risks
- Lead the development and maintenance of a network of functional specialists across the Group to drive delivery of best practice sharing, delivery of group wide programmes and closure of high risk control issues across the divisions.
- Prepare and deliver a range of high level presentations in order to influence and inform senior stakeholders on specialist risks, business plans and strategies.
- Act as the senior source of professional expertise across the Group responding to a wide range of complex enquiries ensuring information provided is clearly understood by stakeholders 
- Actively build and maintain relationships with a wide range of senior internal and external stakeholders to obtain/exchange information, identify best practices, determine future requirements and respond to changes in the internal and external business environment
