HEAD OF HR - PUBLIC SECTOR

THE ROLE

To direct and lead a professional, effective and high quality Human Resources, Organisational Development and Workforce Development service, providing a full range of HR services across the organisation, aimed at leading, enabling and supporting a high performing and continually improving workforce and organisation culture

This role is a member of the Corporate Leadership Board and will contribute to the development of corporate strategies and across the organisation. The post-holder will also provide advice and support to the client's Members, leadership team and other stakeholders in regards to strategic Human Resources.

DUTIES

- To drive the improvement of standards in HR and development practice as head of profession to enable the organisation, though its workforce, to meet its objectives and deliver value for money services.
- To develop, implement and monitor a business plan and performance management framework for the HR service to ensure its effective operation and make the best use of resources.
- To provide direction, leadership and professional guidance to staff in the HR serviceto ensure a motivated team and a culture of high performance and continuous.
- To develop and implement an appropriate and innovative Reward Strategy and approach for the Client which effectively attracts, motivates and retains employees to enable the organisation to deliver on its priority outcomes.
- Lead the development and implementation of the Organisation
- Development and Change programme and Human Resources strategy to support the delivery of their priorities.

EXPERIENCE

- The ideal candidate will be CIPD qualified and already operating in a similar HR leadership role within a large complex organisation.
- You will have experience of leading on reward, organisation design, resourcing, performance management, cultural change and leadership and management development as well as a strong background in employee relations.
- You will be a strategic thinker but with a pragmatic approach to achieving business goals. You will have a high energy, proactive style, tenacity, determination to succeed and resilience.
- You will be a confident relationship builder with a proven ability to influence and negotiate at the most senior levels of the organisation, with elected members, trade unions and partner organisations.
- This is an exciting opportunity for someone with the drive, high standards and strong business acumen to make large scale change happen quickly and effectively.
