HEAD OF H&S POLICY AND DELIVERY

Large eCommerce & Retail business based in NW London

PURPOSE

Shape the future agenda to lead the company drive to maintain the safety and resilience of our day to day operations. Champion for doing the right thing, responding to our business' diverse challenges with an approach that balances best practice, common sense and commercial thinking. Lead a team of experienced Health and Safety advisors across the business and have personal responsibility to support and advise our Executive team, ensuring the company is always a safe place to work.

The role will ensure that Health & Safety requirements are fully integrated into all business and operational processes, supported by a team which embrace and promote the principle of " doing the right thing" whilst supporting business performance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Leader of Group's approach to Health & Safety, setting strategy, policyboth nationally and internationally.
- Work closely with the regulators to secure an appropriate enforcement attitude toward the Group.
- Manage Health and Safety department budget completing budget planning and review meetings with the Finance team
- Participate in projects and working parties and carry out any other duties that may be outside the standard remit for the purpose of personal development, or as may be reasonably required by the Company

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

- MUST HAVE PREVIOUS H&S EXPERIENCE IN RETAIL INDUSTRY
- Experienced Health & Safety professional who has worked within a diverse, fast paced environment. Experience in working with and influencing key senior stakeholders is essential as well as managing a

geographically dispersed team and external contacts
- Experience in a senior leadership role and be CMIOSH qualified as a minimum.

Have experience of dealing with, supporting, and advising senior management at strategic levels within a corporate environment - Experience of being a key decision-maker
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills
- Knowledge of continuous improvement and corrective/preventative action techniques
- Computer literate
- Line management/Leadership experience
