Head of FRA - 14 Months FTC

General Management
Execute all FRA activities for assigned territory optimizing systems and people resources
Managing team of Financial Accountants and/or Transactional Processing and/or Accounts Receivable team as applicable, delivering operational excellence in running of all day-to-day operations of the FRA function within the assigned Region
Manage and develop Financial Accountants and/or Transactional Processing Team and/or Accounts Receivable team as applicable, within the assigned Region.
Strive for excellence in communication within the organisation.
Coordination and support in ad hoc projects

Accounting
Provide Accounting Services within the region through managing own team and/or liaison(s) in outsourced services providers (within the Group and 3rd party services providers)
Ensuring accounting services are conducted in line with IFRS, Group and Division accounting standards.
Strive for excellence in quality and timeliness, ensuring all statutory requirements are met.

Reporting
Ensure timely and accurate delivery of financial reports for all Divisions from all Reporting Units within the assigned Region. Coordinate local timelines for reporting of Actual results as well as Latest Estimates and Target submissions.
Liaise with relevant Novartis functions, providing necessary information related to the process/region.
Prepare the regular financial statements review, developing tools and processes for constant quality and efficiency improvements across the regional FRA organisation.

Compliance
Ensure full compliance to NFCM/SOX 404 requirements driving the Internal Control annual cycle within the Region (self-assessment, testing, remediation, certification).
Strive for Internal Control improvements, drive for automation and simplification of the internal control set-up, while maintaining all the Risks under control in line with business requirements,
Execute with Regional FRA Leader and in conjunction with Global teams regular site reviews and communicating the status and progress of Global compliance initiatives within the Region

Sucessful candidates will be of graduate calibre, strong technical competence, acquired in Audit (Big 4 or similar) or in larger accounting department within an International Group. You will have team leadership - line management, coaching, mentoring & development of team members
