Head of Financial Crime

Our Financial Services client has an opportunity for a Head of Financial Crime to ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Operational Risk Framework and internal Policies and Standards. The role holder will be acknowledged as a Financial Crime subject matter expert and will support the Wealth Financial Crime Lead Director.

You will have responsibility for leading the UK MLROs/Financial Crime Advisory Team and virtual manager of MLROs in multiple locations. The main function is to provide Wealth related businesses with an advisory service relating to day to day Financial Crime matters (sanctions, ABC, KYC, suspicious activity etc).

Qualifications/education

- In depth knowledge of Financial Crime related legal, regulatory environment and risk management
- Understanding of other jurisdictional laws, regulations, regulatory expectations and industry best practice

Skills and knowledge:

- Strong IT skills
- Some language proficiency
- Knowledge of project management and risk and control frameworks
- Strong team leader and mentor - ability to encourage, engage and empower
- Strong organisational, planning and problem-solving skills, ability to multi-task and demonstrate flexible thinking. Ability to distil complex issues to clear and concise briefings for senior management
- Legal or Financial Crime background

Candidates should have a Financial Services background with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You should be able to communicate effectively to stakeholders and suppliers at all levels.
