Head of Financial Accounts

INTERIM HEAD OF FINANCIAL ACCOUNTS - £400.00 - LONDON - IMMEDIATE

I am recruiting an Interim Head of Financial Accounts (band 8a equiv) for an NHS Trust in South West London. You will need to be a qualified accountant with an excellent track record in the NHS in order to be considered for this opportunity.

Your responsibilities will include the following:

- Lead and manage the statutory accounts process, be the principal external audit contact for the external audit and ensure that accounting deadlines are complied with.
- Interpret and implement national NHS policy and ensure robust compliance is in place.
- Ensure that the policies and procedures of the Finance Department allow the Trust to comply with Statutory requirements, the NHS Manual for Accounts, Department of Health and HM Treasury guidance, International Financial Reporting Standards and recognised good practice and accounting standards.
- Lead on the development of efficient financial services in the Trust.
- Maintain and develop the Trust's financial and risk systems with particular emphasis on meeting the strategic needs of the Trust.

This role is part of the Senior Management Team within the Finance and Planning Directorate and has significant input into the development and implementation of corporate strategy. The post holder will deputise for the Deputy/Director of Finance on relevant financial matters.
