HEAD OF FINANCE (NOT FOR PROFIT)

Our client is a small charity, seeking a Head of Finance to join them on a Temporary basis. This is a great chance to join this business whilst they are going through an exciting period of growth.

RESPONSIBLE FOR

Overall management of the firm's financial operations, regulatory financial reporting and management accounting/information services, currently consisting of five direct reports

OBJECTIVE

- The firm is at an exciting stage of its development and is looking to build a finance function which acts as a true business partner
- Providing a robust financial control framework to protect value and ensure resilience
- Adding real value to the partnership through sharper business insight, stronger governance, better forward planning and increasing the general commerciality of decision making
- Acting as a change agent to support the firm in the implementation of its strategic growth

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Assume overall responsibility for the efficient running of the firm's day to day financial operations
- Implement a robust environment of financial control in all aspects of business operations to ensure maximum value protection and compliance with all regulatory requirements
- Oversee preparation of the firm's financial/statutory accounts and liaison
- Oversee the preparation of the firm's monthly management accounts
- Drive actions and behaviours to optimise the firm's working capital position
- Work closely with the Finance Director in driving the annual planning, budgeting and forecasting processes during the financial year
- Oversee the accounting and reporting for all International offices and ensure financial integration is achieved
- Review current business processes and financial reporting systems, and where appropriate oversee the implementation new systems and enhancements
- Day to day responsibility for the finance function, including recruitment, training and development and performance evaluation

EXPERIENCE

- The ideal candidate will have come from a not for profit background
- Qualified (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
- Will have experience of SORP reporting
- Have confidence, gravitas and an ability to engage comfortably with senior staff.
- Experience of systems implementation and exposure to software systems
- Driving change within the finance function
- Strong technical accountant
- Strong influencing and persuasive skills
- Ability to plan and prioritise their own work load as well as that of their team's to meet the competing priorities and demands of the business
- Strong communication skills
