Role: Head of Strategy and Architecture - Insurance

We are now seeking a talented Head of Strategy and Architecture, based in Norwich, York London, however you will need to be based in Norwich 2 to 3 days per week.

You will be part of a Market executive team and provide strategic IT direction. As a Head of Strategy and Architecture, you will demonstrate a sound understanding of the business strategy and goals and will be responsible for developing a compelling IT strategy and roadmap to support these aims.

You will shape the change portfolio, driving the execution of the market roadmap to create capabilities and standardize IT within the context of the IT strategy. You will govern change to drive compliance and alignment with market and IT strategy, providing appropriate reporting and escalation.

You will assess solutions to ensure they are designed to deliver required functionality, appropriate service qualities and are extensible in the face of the future demands. As the Head of Strategy and Architecture you will provide a focal point for strategic IT leadership, lining business and IT strategy across the organisation and external IT partners.

Essential Knowledge and Skills

You will have previous knowledge and active use of industry frameworks and tools such as TOGAF, Zachman, and Abacus. Ideally you will have a thorough understanding of the challenges facing the business and will have a deep awareness of technology, media, tools, trends and adoption rates.

You will need previous experience of developing IT visions, strategy and roadmap projects in a complex business environment. You will need expert communication and presentation skills, persuasively presenting game-changing ideas to stakeholders. You will have to demonstrate an analytics disciplined approach as well as have dynamic, abstract problem solving skills.

You must have strong experience in strategy development and execution across industries and will have kept abreast of technologies, concepts, practises and industry direction. Ideally you will have previous in an Insurance or Financial Services environment, however exposure to a large scale customer centric business is a must.
