HEAD OF COST AND COMMERCIAL MANAGEMENT - BANKING - LONDON

Leading banking client are looking for a Head of Cost and Commercial Management to be responsible for the Technology cost control strategy. The role encompasses both run the bank and programme spend, supporting the success of the implementation of the Technology strategy and the global roadmap.

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES

- Accountable for devising and driving the commercial cost control strategy.
- Ensuring that all management measures are understood and adhered to with the assistance and support of the federated Business Management community.
- Understand the total cost of ownership of all services delivered.
- Vendor management is part of this role, working with the central sourcing and finance teams, whilst also ensuring all activity is aligned with the Technology strategy and roadmap.
- Responsible for negotiating and implementing all new Technology sourcing under £100k and will be supported by the central sourcing team who are responsible for managing larger deals.
- Manage a small team to deliver cost and commercial analysis to the Technology Leadership Team (TLT). The role holder will also support the central Business Management team in providing MI to the PCB leadership and Operations and Technology leadership teams.
- There are a number of stakeholders to which the Head of Cost and Commercial Management is responsible, this includes the Head of Business Management and The Technology Leadership team.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

- Excellent communication skills with an ability to influence policy formation and decision making on behalf of The Technology organisation.
- Experience within Investment Banking or Wealth would be beneficial.
- Must be able to work collaboratively, working with the central Business Management Team.
- Must have an excellent knowledge of office tools in order to build complex spreadsheets and presentations to deliver to both senior leadership and the Business Management team.
- Knowledge of sourcing and negotiation of contracts would be an advantage.
- Previous experience working in financial services, and a familiarity with Technology and infrastructure.
- Good record of contributing to the development and implementation of governance and control standards and supporting policies.
- An accounting background with relevant qualification.
- At least five years experience managing a small team with the ability to influence virtual teams outside of direct control.

RATE: £600 - 700 PER DAY

DURATION: 6 MONTHS
