HEAD OF CHILDREN'S SERVICES - CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE'S SERVICES

The Head of Children's Services plays a pivotal role in supporting and leading Children's Social Care Services. The post holder will be expected to provide strong leadership and decision making, supporting and driving the realisation of the service's vision.

The Head of Children's Services reports to the Director of Children and Young People's Services

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:- - Previous experience in the role of Head of Children's Services
- Proven track record of success in children's social care provision, including experience of leading and managing safeguarding services at a senior level.
- Extensive experience of strategic planning and service delivery within local or central government, with demonstrable and proven record of achievement in same
- Detailed knowledge of the legislative frameworks and statutory requirements relating to children's services.
- Strong demonstrable understanding of Child Protection and Safeguarding issues.
- Strong knowledge of children's services statutory requirements
- Knowledge of vulnerable children's issues
- Educated to degree-level or equivalent in a relevant subject, or equivalent by experience.
- A qualified social worker registered with the General Social Care Council.
- Evidence of at least a level 5 management qualification
- Evidence of continuous professional development
