Robert Half Management Resources are looking to engage with an Interim Head of Capacity Management for an NHS organisation based in Epsom, Surrey.

THE ROLE

Key duties as part of this challenging role will include:

- To be the key operational lead for ensuring the safe and timely flow of patients through the hospital in order to support the delivery of performance and quality standards
- To proactively manage timely patient discharge plans, holding all parties to account
- To line manage key staff within the Operations Centre and Discharge Teams in all areas of their role.
- Support teams to deliver their agreed objectives through offering advice, guidance, and support as appropriate
- As department budget holder, ensure that approved budgets are spent effectively and in accordance with agreed procedures and SFIs
- Build and sustain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders
- Lead the operational teams to ensure the safe and timely flow of patients whilst ensuring the delivery of performance and quality standards
- Interpreting and implementing local trust and national guidance to optimise patient flow through the organisation
- Contribute to the day to day operational planning and decision making within the Trust
- Play a key role in service improvement and strategic planning with specific focus on demand and capacity and patient pathways
- Work with Directorate teams to support the safe and effective flow of patients throughout the Trust
- Support the Clinical Site Managers and Discharge Coordinators to deliver their key objectives
- Ensure appropriate data collection and analysis to support effective decision making
- Provide reports to Directorate teams in order to assist in the effective management of the patient Pathway
- Analyse and interpret data and information in order to understand trends and predict pressure on the organisation.

YOUR PROFILE

- Educated to degree level or relevant professional managerial experience in the NHS.
- Considerable experience in a senior management position in an Acute Trust.
- Experience of budgets, performance review and people management.
- Experience of communicating difficult or complex information to healthcare professionals.
- Ability to demonstrate expert professional knowledge in a senior management role.
- Understanding of key operational performance indicators relating to patient access.
- Demonstrable facilitation/negotiation and change management skills.
- Fully developed leadership skills.
- Ability to effectively manage resources/teams to deliver financial balance & sustained improvement.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

SALARY & BENEFITS

Interim Head of Capacity Management, NHS client, based in Epsom, Surrey.

Initial 3 month contract to commence w/c 2nd March 2015.

£300 - £350 per day (via Ltd Company) DOE.
