Head of Audience Data and Quality

Key Accountabilities

*Recruit, and provide day-to-day line management for Data Quality Manager, including setting out clear objectives, responsibilities & performance standards
*To create and manage a data quality monitoring process which reports on Audience data quality and quantity to management and to wider organisation
*To plan and implement measures to improve audience data quality, using resources from engineering and from wider organisation as appropriate
*To work with Marketing and Audience and Product teams to encourage audience members to provide additional data
*Evaluate external data sources which may be appropriate to append to the audience database, working with BBC engineering to manage process of ingesting data
*Work with engineering to specify the business requirements for audience database infrastructure, ensuring that such infrastructure development continues to bring the BBC closer to its vision of a single view of each audience member
*Act as primary audience data contact in the team with Data Privacy and Legal teams to ensure that data processes comply with legal and privacy requirements
*To manage the Audience Data budget
*With the Commercial Manager, contract manage data contracts


*An impressive record of success in the field of data management, gained at a senior level within broadcasting, digital media, advertising agency or service industry with a similar consumer and audience focus to the organisation
*Experience of implementing new direct marketing and/or CRM capability and developing supporting marketing processes
*Experience of managing senior stakeholder relationships.
*A successful leader with experience of line management and development during a time of change and potential ambiguity.
*Strongly evidenced experience of, and aptitude for, working in a highly matrixed environment managing competing demands and objectives from disparate teams.
*Experience of driving efficiency and effectiveness in ways of working and managing and working collaboratively with in-house resources, suppliers, external agencies and third parties.
*Knowledge of the digital media industry, broadcasting industry and a demonstrable passion for the broadcasting and digital media.
