I am looking to hire Head of Analysis and Performance for one of my public sector client.

Please see the below job specification:

Essential Experience:

- An ability to identify and analyse correct data (leading and lagging) and be able to make recommendations to the business to ensure continuous improvement.
- An ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders and directors to ensure delivery and continuous improvement.
- Supports informed and evidence based decision making and an ability to provide a service which provide the customer and business value for money.
- Experience of developing and embedding a performance management system.
- Demonstrate that they meet the requirements to be a member of one of the relevant government analytical professions (Government Economic Service, Government Statistical Service, Government Operational Research Service, or Government Social Research Service) at Deputy Director level as set out in the documents attached as Annexes A through D. The interview panel will also have as a panel member a Director of Analysis from an OGD.
- Excellent analytical and performance management skills, with credibility across all aspects of the knowledge management and performance management agenda (note, specific understanding of public sector performance management is not essential, but you will be expected to develop a strong understanding quickly).
- Experience of successfully operating and making high level strategic and operational performance recommendations and decisions in a complex political/organisational environment.
- Evidence of successfully linking organisational and financial performance and communicating those links to senior managers and stakeholders.
- A track record of driving performance improvement through strong and effective operational, financial and governance tools and leadership.
- A track record of delivery through a team and confidence to shape the team to the task.


- Excellent analytical ability
- The ability to think strategically and analyse data, policy documents and develop innovative, creative solutions and approaches.
- The ability to see beyond the data to the so what' - and to use your insight and experience to draw business conclusions
- Excellent communication skills, at all levels
- The ability to communicate complex positions clearly, orally, in writing and through presentations, to a wide variety of audiences from Ministers and the Judiciary to staff at all levels
- Able to adapt quickly to different environments, and to use different styles depending upon the needs of the particular audience
- Able and willing to tackle under performance, so that we don't have gaps in our management capability - with a strong track record of building capability and developing people
- Able to bring people with you during change, at all levels
- The ability to successfully lead and inspire the HQ and regional finance teams.
- The ability to build and maintain successful relationships, winning and retaining the trust of peers and senior stakeholders
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to work effectively across boundaries, with leaders at all levels, and with a variety of governmental and other partners and the Judiciary. a highly-collaborative, team-player approach, able to work as a core member of a team across functional and organisational boundaries and build strong and productive relationships
- A high level of confidence and resilience, with an ability to manage ambiguity and challenge
- Highest levels of integrity and business ethics.
- Self-starter, driven to achieve results
