Head of ALM - Asset/Liability Management

A fantastic opportunity to join a leading Insurance company in London to take the role as Head of ALM for a period of 3 months. The role will look to challenge current practice and identify areas that require action to ensure that investment risk is appropriately managed as well as reviewing requirements for current and future hedging strategies for managing interest rate, credit and equity risk

accountabilities:

Take all reasonable steps to ensure the timely and appropriate resolution of control weaknesses, issues and
operational failures arising within the business
Ensure actions, decisions and processes take account of risk appetite limits and the potential impact on the
risk profile of the area, escalating any uncertainties to senior management/Risk function
Ensure effective systems of internal control to manage risks and maintain records reflecting compliance with
regulatory requirements

essentials:

Experience of working with a complex range of stakeholders (Board and Executive level) with
competing needs
Significant breadth and depth of experience of risk and capital work, specifically in an insurance, asset
management or investment banking setting
Significant experience of operating in an investment & ALM related function that required a deep
understanding of the financial instruments invested into by life insurers (eg derivatives, credit etc)
Detailed knowledge of industry best practice, good network/links with external bodies and individuals in
the same field
Understanding of the Statements of Principle and > Code of Practice
Expert level knowledge of the financial instruments invested into by life insurers (eg derivatives, credit etc)
Detailed knowledge of financial services regulatory and legislatory frameworks
Detailed knowledge of regulatory and rating agency asset charges

Professional qualifications
Relevant professional qualification (eg Actuary, CFA, Accountant etc) with relevant post qualification
