Head of Advocacy (Customer Due Diligence)

Location: London with travel and flexibility regarding location

Duration: Initial 12 months

Rate: £500 - £700 per day

Key Skills: Advocacy, Risk, Compliance, Customer Due Diligence, Stakeholder Management
Our financial services client is looking for a Head of Advocacy (Customer Due Diligence area) to join the senior management team and take responsibility for the uptake of customer due diligence policies within the bank. This is an exciting opportunity to join at the outset of an interesting programme of work and shape how customer due diligence policy is driven across the bank.

You will be responsible for translating complex risk/compliance aspects of policy into day to day user-friendly language that enables colleagues working throughout the bank including retail areas to follow the policies in spirit, embedding the "know your customer" culture within the organisation.

In order to do this your duties will include but not be restricted too:

- Translating compliance and risk management disciplines into easy to follow concepts.
- Verifying suitable customer due diligence training, accreditation and licensing.
- Acting as the "face" of customer due diligence to manage internal stakeholders expectations and build strong working relationships to deepen stakeholders understanding of relevant policies.
- Manage internal communications and document repositories available to stakeholders.
- Directly lead and develop a high performing team including coaching and mentoring activities as required.
- Review and evaluate all decisions to identify potential risks (financial, people, regulatory and operational).
- Provide insightful information, guidance and input into the senior management team to influence business decisions.

In order to be successful carrying out this role you should have had experience of driving the activities listed above at a senior level within a financial services role previously. You will have strong leadership/management skills at "head of" or programme management level, excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to positively influence change.

You will have a thorough understanding of customer due diligence policy and associated knowledge base. You should also be able to prove you can add value to the senior management team through useful insight and excellent judgement.

This is a brilliant and potentially long term opportunity to be involved from the outset of the programme.
