HEAD FIRED EQUIPMENT ENGINEERING IS needed for a CONTRACT position with Yoh's client located in HOUSTON, TX 77024

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- To develop and lead fired equipment engineering group to be able to self perform thermal and mechanical design in house.
- Must have hands-on experience with design, operation and troubleshooting of steam methane reforming furnaces, fired heaters, boilers, flares, refractory, burners, heat recovery coils, and stacks
- Perform furnace analytical calculations, including radiant and convection coil layout and sizing, heat transfer, and hydraulic calculations.
- Responsible for completing heat transfer, material balance and rate furnace operations.
- Produce API type data sheets for furnaces and furnace related equipment.
- Experience with sizing and arrangement of different types of Fired Heaters and WHRS systems.
- Experience with FRNC-5 and Reform-3 software preferred
- Possesses a thorough knowledge of relevant industry standards (eg API, ASME, ASTM)
- Checks calculations and drawings for conformity with design requirements.
- Reviews and helps update drawing schedule. Makes forecasts
- Organizes work to comply with project requirements
- Works with Business Development personnel on client proposals
- Prepares material requisitions and technical input to subcontract packages
- Develops specifications, design standards, calculations, sketches, and scopes of work related to the design of reforming furnaces and other types of fired equipment and associated equipment
- Closely liaison and coordinate with other discipline leaders
- Recognized leader and authority in the company in a broad area of specialization
- Negotiates critical and controversial issues with officers of other organizations and companies.
- Continually upgrades technical knowledge and capabilities of the team.
- Works with business development personnel on client proposals.
- Organizes work to comply with project requirements.
- Coordinates with other departments
- Approves the Department Design Basis for projects
- Maintains a copy of the relevant sections of the project estimate and generates change notices.
- Assigns all engineering work including checking of calculations; reviews engineering sketches.
- Stamps drawings as required
- Ensures that drawing recheck is performed.
- Reviews other disciplines and vendor print inter-squad drawings.
- Keeps Manager informed of any changes in staffing requirements.
- Saves original calculations for Department files.
- Through lessons learned on projects, provides input for continuous improvement.
- Provides site support personnel during construction with short duration onsite visits.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Bachelors Degree in Engineering.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of applicable industry standards; API ASME ASTM etc
- Minimum of 20 years of experience in Fired Equipment Engineering; thorough design experience with fired equipment and associated equipment
- Experience of leading a fired equipment engineering team.
- Association and representation on API or equivalent bodies preferred
