Hardware/Systems Engineer

I am currently seeking an Electronics/Hardware Systems Engineer to work with a well-established and respected company based in Belgium, some key information regarding the position is as follows:

Rate: €60-€70ph
Start Date: 8th May 2017
Duration: 6 months initially
Location: Brussels area, Belgium

My client is a well-known and established company specialising in applications as well as whole platforms for the space industry. Following a recent uptake in projects, they require additional resource to assist with the workload on a conceptual product for one of their end clients.

The Role
This role is predominantly a Hardware Engineer with particular focus on PCB layout and schematics. Therefore, you will ideally have experience in the following areas:

* Ability to draft an electronic schematic starting from PCB requirements and an early conceptual design
* Ability to perform component selection (based on a Preferred Parts List - PPL)
* Ability to perform electrical simulations

Ability to perform the following analysis:
* Derating analysis
* Worst-Case analysis
* Parts Stress analysis
* Timing analysis
* Failure Mode Effect analysis
* EMC/ESD analysis
* Thermal analysis (providing inputs to thermal engineer)
* Radiation analysis (optional)
* Ability to integrate a FPGA design (mapping of schematic signal names onto VHDL signal names - CADSTAR2UCF file)
* Ability to define the layout rules for the design
* Ability to review the layout of the design (based on QS checklist)
* Ability to prepare manufacturing files for the PCB
* Ability to prepare the test specification Matrix
* Ability to provide inputs to the EGSE definition
* Ability to fully document the design (including design justification, results of analysis)

Tools to be used are:
* CADSTAR 15 (Electronic schematics)
* Pspice (analyses simulation)
* MS Office (Word, Excel, Visio)
