An exciting Long-term contract opportunity has arisen for a Hardware Engineer to work for a leading Automotive Consultancy. Successful candidates will have a proven Electronics and Control Systems development background ideally in the Automotive Sector.

JOB TITLE:Powertrain Control Systems Hardware Design Engineer

Job description
To lead the development of powertrain control systems electronics hardware design. This role requires the candidate to work within a multinational cross functional team incorporating among others engine design, vehicle electrical/electronic systems, powertrain control architecture and software, powertrain control sensors, project management, research and applications teams. The candidate will be the main point of contact working closely with the tier 1 supplier with respect to the design and validation of the powertrain control module electronics hardware ensuring that it delivers all functional and financial targets while meeting Ford corporate engineering standards.

The candidate will also be expected to be an active participant, and lead where required, with on-going process improvement initiatives.

Experience & Background Skills Required:
- Electrical/Electronics Engineering degree or similar.
- Electronics Hardware and or Embedded control systems development experience ideally in an automotive environment.
- Experience and understanding of modern powertrain control systems would be advantageous though not essential.
- Good business and financial acumen.
- Self-motivated with excellent team and leadership skills.
- Must have the ability to work within a multinational, multicultural cross functional team.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
