Hardware Design/Mechanical Engineer

Our client is the leading computer components brand seeking a HARDWARE DESIGN/MECHANICAL ENGINEER for a contract opportunity.

JOB DUTIES:

- Design the CNC machined and sheet metal based mechanical hardware using Pro/E Creo 2.0
- Create the ECAD/MCAD drawings for communicating the mechanical keep outs to PCB design engineers
- Perform finite element analysis (static stress) of the components and assemblies using Pro/E or Ansys
- Create detailed part and assembly drawings for hardware manufacturing
- Work with the local and offshore suppliers to get the hardware manufactured
- Test the prototypes of the mechanical hardware against a defined test plan
- Conduct detailed and disciplined design reviews with the teams
- Manage self-deliverables without much supervision
- Attend project team meetings with cross-geo and cross functional teams

REQUIRED SKILLS:

- Solid knowledge of mechanical engineering and hardware design with experience in overall product life cycle
- 7-15 years of experience in the mechanical hardware design
- Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering
- High level of proficiency in Pro/E Creo 2.0 (Modeling, Assembly, Detailing, Mechanica)
- High level of proficiency in Pro Windchill 10.0
- Solid experience in Finite Element Analysis using Ansys or equivalent tool
- Expertise in electronic industry (solid understanding of PCB architecture and components)
- Past experience in implementing GD&T
- Ability to manage the project deliverables without too much supervision from the management
- Disciplined and motivated
- Experience in different manufacturing processes for low and high volume applications
