Hadoop Big Data Platform Engineer

HADOOP BIG DATA PLATFORM ENGINEER WANTED FOR OUR BASEL BASED CLIENT.

YOUR EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

- Expertise in installing, sizing, configuring and maintaining HADOOP PLATFORMS ideally based on Cloudera distributions, this implies solid knowledge of big data infrastructures, including storage, processing and networking configurations as well as proficient usage of the Hadoop ecosystem services in particular Apache Spark, YARN and HDFS
- Basic programming and Scripting skills in PYTHON, SHELL, JAVA AND SCALA
- Working experience with RDBMS like SQL SERVER, POSTGRES or ORACLE
- Ability to troubleshoot errors and performance issues in a Hadoop cluster in addition to experience in implementing multi-tenancy in Hadoop environments
- Solid understanding of LINUX/UNIX based systems, including SHELL SCRIPTING and previous DEVOPS EXPERIENCE would be beneficial
- Languages: fluent English both written and spoken

- Leading the development of a Hadoop based platform, to support two key pilot phases
- Collaborating with architecture team to refine requirements
- Cooperating with project team to implement the platform to support the pilot as it progresses
