Group Logistics Manager

GROUP LOGISTICS MANAGER

Purpose: Create and manage a global logistics organization by developing and executing the strategy, in order to provide a sustainable standardised operation to deliver the best value from business outcomes for the Company.

Location: USA (Southern California preferred)
Travel Global travel required, up to 50%, Scope Circa 60 global locations

ROLE PROFILE

Responsible for overall global logistics management, inbound and outbound
Develop and execute Group strategy for global management of logistics program including transportation, logistics, brokerage, carriers, providers and our logistical supply chain; develop and implement security in all transportation modes and types, with buy-off from key stakeholders
Influence best practice for logistics across all sites and Subsidiaries
Effectively manage global logistical spend ($16M+ per year).
Ensure the company is using the most efficient and cost-effective logistics
Manage implementation U.S. C-TPAT and similar regional logistical supply chain security programs

Effectively manage Group logistics program, to deliver continuous improvement and best outcome value

Includes, but is not limited to, Small Parcels, LTL/TL, International Freight Forwarding, International Customs Brokerage, Consolidated shipments, Warehousing for both outbound and inbound shipments

Develop strong rapport with preferred carriers/providers carriers.

Monitor closely all services levels, and perform regular business reviews

PROCUREMENT/TRADE COMPLIANCE

Lead carrier, forwarder, broker selection via provider identification, RFx process, negotiations and contractual engagement, implementation and day to day operation

Coordinate the team internally and with consultant teams/corporations as required
Coordinate with applicable departments to ensure regulatory compliance
Lead and coordinate the team and other related departments the implementation and management of

U.S. C-TPAT and similar regional logistical supply chain security programs

Partner effectively across the company, at all levels and across the functions

Create and submit performance reports, developed from best practice and key performance metrics

Oversee and help direct the activities companywide that ensure the tactical operation of the logistics program.

Control, including remedial process improvement, business service and issues resolution and act on any identified delays associated with shipments and implement corrective actions

PREFERRED

Aerospace/Defence industry knowledge and experience
Global logistical supply chain security/transportation/logistics experience working for a Freight Forwarder/Customs Brokerage company
Experience working with a Transportation Management System, SAP/Global Trade Services (GTS) 8.0
MBA, but will consider experience in lieu of degree, Further education in transportation/logistics/trade compliance
