Group Financial Analyst - Management Accountant - SAP FC (BFC) & SAP B

Our client is a leading Investment Bank in the City.

They urgently seek, for an immediate start a qualified ACA/ACCA/ACMA Accountant with management reporting experience to join the group reporting team on a 6 to 12 month contract. The role reports to and works closely with the Head of Group Management Reporting. The right candidate is likely to have at least 5 years post qualification experience.

This hands-on role, working closely with other group reporting members, will focus on two important areas:

Current reporting

Reviewing monthly submissions from group entities, including PL, headcount and KPI's, for completeness and accuracy.
Monitoring deadlines for receipt of the management reporting submissions.
Preparing the monthly Group reporting dashboards for inclusion in the Group Management Committee papers along with supporting analysis.
Preparing the quarterly Group financial board report for inclusion in the Board papers.
Preparing the annual group budget, bottom up forecasts as and when required, as well as ad hoc desktop forecasts and projections.
Liaising with HR to ensure headcount and bonus data is agreed.
Liaising with global operating divisions to ensure their sign off on all reports produced.
Production of ad hoc reports for senior management, operating divisions and HR.

Future reporting

Over the coming months the Group will be moving from the existing group reporting system of BFC to SAP FC. The Financial Analyst will have a key role in this process, including:

Learning how to use the tool and the associated reporting tools.
Helping to design and build appropriate reports to replace existing excel reports.
Ensuring a controlled migration to the new system.
Once the new system is live, the Financial Analyst will be responsible for generating the ongoing management reports therefrom, and updating when required.

The role will also involve other ad hoc activities which may include:

Assisting the accountant responsible for all reporting relating to the UK entity's Banking and Merchant Banking activities
Assisting in a project to implement new reporting for the group following the recent move to SAP's general ledger and the planned move to SAP FC
Other ad hoc projects to optimise the UK's use of the recently implemented SAP general ledger

This is an important position with exposure to the Group's senior Finance management. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong analytical and spread sheeting/system skills, have an enquiring mind and strong attention to detail and recognise the importance of producing robust and focused management/financial reporting.

Prior experience of SAP is essential. This may be experience of SAP FC or of SAP reporting tools (in particular of the SAP BI suite (Web Intelligence, Analysis for Office, Dashboards) connecting to the SAP Business Warehouse. Prior exposure to the SAP general ledger would also be beneficial.

The ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines when required is essential.
