GROUP FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT, WILMSLOW

SALARY CIRCA £32,000 - £50,000 + EXCELLENT BENEFITS

- Preparing reports and presentations, analysing financial results and financial reporting matters (including the interaction of accounting and actuarial data)
- Supporting the production of quarterly external financial reporting, half yearly results announcement and annual report and accounts.
- Project management of Group Finance deliverables, drafting wording to be included in the reports (including the GFD report of the Annual accounts)
- Calculation and validation of data (specifically the reconciliation of IFRS to EEV results) and liaising with External Communications team
- Acting as a key liaison with external auditors and coordinating the provision of key deliverables to assist their audits

Risk Management;

- Supporting First Line Risk team for Group Finance - ensuring risk management activities are fully Embedded
- Supporting the delivery of risk reporting for Finance as required (including quarterly Operational Risk Committees, Control and Risk Self Assessment, Tier 1 policy gap analysis, risk events and incident escalations)

Other;

- Supporting the Group Financial Controller in ad-hoc projects as required, eg example financial due diligence on potential corporate transactions and delivery of presentations and reports to support corporate activities

KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

The successful candidate will possess a professional accounting qualification (CCAB/CIMA or equivalent), ideally with post qualification experience gained from the life insurance industry, financial services or big 4.

- Excellent analytical and numerical skills
- Strong report writing skills
- Knowledge and experience of the life insurance industry and insurance accounting
- Significant experience of preparing and/or auditing financial statements
