Group Compliance Monitoring Manager

This role has the responsibility of leading the compliance monitoring activity throughout all businesses in the Client's Group by independently monitoring on a risk-based approached Group businesses' adherence with relevant rules, regulations, codes and internal business standards, policies and procedures. The role includes leadership of a team of monitoring assistants with the Compliance Monitoring Manager being required to perform both regular surveillance activities and thematic monitoring reviews in accordance with structured risk-based compliance monitoring programmes. 

Responsibilities include:

- Continually analysing and interpreting FCA rules, principles or best practice and/or rules, principles or best practice of any other regulatory or Government body, agree with the relevant CF10  as to how these impact compliance monitoring activities and implement changes to compliance monitoring programmes as necessary to ensure compliance monitoring activities remain fit for purpose'.
- Develop, document and deliver robust risk-based compliance monitoring programmes and procedures across all regulated businesses in the Group. This to include on-going and one-off, themed investigations as may be required from time to time.
- Plan, organise and prioritise a work schedule to ensure cost and time effective use of available resources.
- To comprehensively research all business areas in the Group and to risk profile their activity by reference to internal and external risk factors.
- Collate, analyse, record and report management information to support direction and to allocate resources for undertaking face to face and/or desk based compliance monitoring of all regulated businesses in the Group.
- Organise internal and/or external (where applicable) compliance monitoring resource, and in conjunction with that resource, undertake face to face and/or desk based compliance monitoring reviews of all businesses in the Group in accordance with approved compliance monitoring programmes.
- Prepare timely and accurate reports in accordance with agreed format following completion of face to face and/or desk based compliance monitoring activities. Agree outcomes with the relevant CF10 and present compliance monitoring findings directly to individuals, groups of individuals or entire regulated businesses in the Group.
- Monitor to resolution all remedial action items arising from compliance monitoring reviews and ensure that appropriate senior management is aware, at all times, of the progress being made to remediate these items.
- In conjunction with the Group Head of Compliance and the Group MLRO (CF10 & CF11) discuss and offer solutions to the regulated businesses to systemic issues identified both during and after compliance monitoring activities.
- To create well documented files to support compliance monitoring activities, findings and remedial action.
- Identify, understand and address the compliance monitoring implications of all projects, business developments and system changes.
- Managing and developing members of the compliance monitoring team.
