Group Accountant

Fantastic long term contract opportunity with this leading Financial Services organisation based in Edinburgh &ndash our client requires to recruit a Group Accountant, to join an established team that works with key Group functions and business units.

 

You will be a qualified accountant, ideally with experience of working with a mid-top tier accountancy firm and can demonstrate good knowledge of reporting, controls and IFRS.

 

The team is responsible for designing how the Group reports to the market &ndash also responsible for monitoring, assessing and managing the implementation of IFRS requirements for the Group.

 

Reporting to the Head of Group Reporting the key responsibilities of the role are:

&bull Participate in strategic projects, ensuring all relevant IFRS accounting issues are considered and fully understood
&bull Provide IFRS accounting advice and guidance
&bull Point of contact for areas across the Group&rsquos IFRS external reporting, including reporting of performance metrics
&bull Research into current  and emerging IFRS technical accounting issues &ndash assessing the impact on Group IFRS results
&bull Contribute to implementation of new standards across the Group
&bull Ad hoc business projects

 

This role will involve developing and establishing key relationships with key stakeholders, will offer advice on technical issues and will require good analytical skills.
