GROUNDS CUSTODIAN - PART TIME

The Grounds Custodian maintains and enhances Park District's facilities by removing generated trash and recyclable materials from public and staff areas of the park to the proper containers for removal.   Performs assigned cleaning tasks in a manner which assures a quality product and programs consistent with Park District Policies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

- Removal of generated trash and recyclable materials from the public and staff areas of the park to the proper containers for removal.
- Performs assigned cleaning tasks that requires us of tools and equipment such as carpet cleaning, glass cleaning, floor scrubbers and buffers, power washers, high work using lifts and or ladders.
- Performs routine maintenance on Park Operation's building facilities and grounds.
- Removes snow and applies de-icing to walkways or building entrances. May use snow throwers and salt spreaders.
- Submits all records and forms correctly completed and on a timely basis.
- Keeps direct supervisor promptly informed of key/significant issues or concerns.
- Carries out duties and responsibilities in a safe and efficient manner to maintain safe work environment and surrounding area for oneself, co-workers and public. Responds to hazardous situations and/or potentially unsafe conditions by taking corrective action as capable and promptly notifying supervisory personnel.
- Performs related duties as assigned or apparent. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to perform variable physical requirements of custodial work.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders, including employees and the general public.
- Ability to speak and write clearly to provide updates to the Sr. Park Manager as needed.
- Ability to perform work with a high degree of accuracy and organization.
- Ability to work cooperatively with others.
- Must have a good driving record (less than six (6) active points on driving records at the application stage of the hiring process) and possess a valid Ohio driver's license.
- MUST BE A NON-SMOKER/TOBACCO USER.
