Grid Regulations Manager

Our client is a leading UK Utility have a long term contract for a Grid Regulations Manager to identify external regulatory influences that will impact on the operation of the business, specifically in relation to Grid regulation with a predominantly offshore focus. Determine the risks and opportunities that exist from this external change. Interfacing with Finance and Commercial departments to quantify the commercial impacts across both the existing and proposed portfolio. Engaging with stakeholders, both internal and external to influence regulatory change to the benefit. Provide briefing for the business, including the executives regarding potential changes and propose mitigating actions. 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS  

Commercial/Strategic planning Business professional - with broad experience of managing regulatory and grid issues including, transmission access arrangements, the CUSC, TNUoS charging and OFTO arrangements.

Understanding of a highly complex and diverse regulatory regime, in particular transmission charging and access  policies

Ability to work independently, with limited direct supervision

Investigative skills to enable identification of possible regulatory change, both published and that in early stage consideration by stakeholders.

Strong commercially aptitude in regard to data from a variety of sources and bring together to support strategic arguments

Strong influencing and negotiating skills, in particular experience of leading meetings, forums and virtual teams

Ability to interface with the rest of the business to identify impacts, develop policies and deliver solutions

The ability to identify business requirements and present a case for them both internally and in external forums

Highly motivated and able to work independently

Strong project planning & management skill set
