Greenhouse Technician Job

GREENHOUSE TECHNICIAN needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in DEFOREST, WI.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Assisting with laboratory, greenhouse and field pathology phenol-typing assays by filling pots, planting, thinning, and water, and fertilization, pest management, rating experiments and discarding experiments.
- Maintain and troubleshoot greenhouse and growth room equipment in compliance with company's safety protocols.
- Equipment includes but is not limited to lights, timers, heated bench, growth rooms, and watering systems, rudimentary electrical, heating and cooling knowledge.
- Manage pest control program for greenhouse including scouting, spraying and cleanup.
- Performing field management of research plots including scouting, weeding, data collection, planting, harvest and other tasks as needed.
- Performing a variety of laboratory functions, including media and buffer preparation, inoculum production,
- Adhere to phytosanitation requirements, including proper steaming of discarded material, and compliance with all permit requirements
- Active participation in safety program and diligence in following requirements.
- Operate forklift

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- One or more years of experience in research lab, greenhouse setting, agricultural environment or related area
- Valid WI Certified Pesticide Applicator's License or ability to obtain in two (2) months
- Knowledge of MS Office and Excel
- Ability to work under diverse environmental conditions in the field
