Graphic Designer

Are you talented, hardworking, and passionate about fashion? Our hugely popular client is looking for a Full time VISUAL WEB DESIGNER with a background in FASHION RETAIL WEBSITES. We need a highly motivated, self-directed, enthusiastic person with a sense of humor and a sharp mind who works well under pressure and can thrive in an atmosphere of rapid development. Candidate must be comfortable working within existing style guide conventions, and be willing to work collaboratively, but also have a strong individual sense of aesthetics and be able to bring tasteful, stylish, high-class ideas to the table.

Successful candidates will provide a strong portfolio, demonstrate excellent web interface understanding, and have comprehensive visual design skills. S/He must also be able to effectively manage multiple tasks and/or projects at once, without sacrificing quality. Position is based in New York, NY.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Collaborate with Senior Designers as well as usability, development, and business teams to deliver high-quality, scalable, on-brand graphic solutions to build a superior customer experience
- Produce sketches, graphics, templates, layouts, themes, typography, and visual standards for merchandising or promotion throughout the retail web process
- Provide and manage design documentation, style guides, and specifications
- Assist Art Director with design direction for photo shoots
- Assist Art Director with image selection and editing process
- Proactively manage time and deadlines

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- At least 4 years of web design experience
- At least 1 year experience in designing for high-end retail web sites
- 4-year college degree required
- Experience in fashion retail, preferably online
- Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Microsoft Office, HTML, and CSS required
- Mastery of the principals of design, typography, color theory, and graphics file creation optimized for the web
- Strong communication skills
- Knowledge of style trends and customer expectations

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Design Degree
- Illustration skills and/or Flash, Fireworks, Visio, JavaScript, and DHTML experience a plus
- Experience in fashion retail, preferably online
