In order to apply for this vacancy you must be a graduate or equivalent living in Wales aged under 25 on the expected start date. You must be unemployed or working less than 16 hours per week. You will be asked to provide documentary evidence of your age and address if you are successful.

Lothbury UK has an exciting opportunity for a graduate to join the company as a trainee. As part of the on-going growth of the business, the graduate trainee role is designed to offer professional staff the opportunity to learn about all aspects of the insurance broking operation as well as providing a substantive role in a hands-on personal development scenario.
Outline
As part of a small business the objective is to ensure that staff move quickly from learning the role into hands-on experience. Insurance contracts vary considerably in complexity and our vision is to get new starters quickly involved in handling simple changes to existing customer policies to achieve an understanding of the processes and issues. This process of building familiarity with simple products then allows the role holder to advance in a controlled manner to the more demanding transactions. We will support staff with study breaks and all necessary support to complete the Chartered Institute's exams and source additional on-site or off-site training courses. Additional training may take place within the Chester or London office, as well as Gryn Business Center.
Role Accountabilities
Handling of small account policy administration changes and liaising with insurers on relevant cases.
Negotiating and leading discussions between clients and insurers on renewals.
Offering service and advice on claims matters.
Offering class leading response in terms of speed of service and effortlessness.
Developing knowledge of large case and more complex account types.
To embark on new business activity shadowing senior staff in negotiations.
To take an involvement in the marketing and promotion of the business to the external world.
To undertake meetings with key suppliers (Insurers)
To understand the basic operation of compliance and the FSA
To take professional Chartered Insurance Institute exams.
