In order to apply for this vacancy you must be a graduate or equivalent living in Wales aged under 25 on the expected start date. You must be unemployed or working less than 16 hours per week. You will be asked to provide documentary evidence of your age and address if you are successful.

Description :
Henrob Ltd, the pioneer of modern day self-pierce riveting has a reputation that has been built on providing creative products and joining solutions for their customers throughout the world. Henrob's philosophy is to design reliable, robust solutions for production. This is achieved with the aid of 3D computer-aided design (CAD) software allowing in-depth modeling of tools and product access studies. Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software is used to ensure adequate life expectancy of components. Design data can be exchanged via the web, e-mail or FTP servers, offering rapid turnaround of rivet joint designs and equipment proposals.
The role will include the following duties:
Prepare equipment (mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and software) for testing.
Design, procure components (or fabricate if necessary) and built test rigs.
Develop test equipment, visualisation and measurement techniques to help set-up or characterise Henrob equipment.
Develop and document test programmes and test rigs or critically review test programmes prepared by others.
Prepare National Instruments equipment for use with LabView and set up LabView programmes for tes control and data logging.
Ensure timely delivery of test results.
Participate in design reviews and FMEAs providing advice and guidance on testing and validation issues. Give feed back and advice on current products and future developments.
Give guidance on design of experiments (DoE) etc to optimise effectiveness of any testing undertaken.
Document any testing and write test reports.
Develop reliability data (MTBF) from component and system testing. Become familiar with Henrob riveting and feed technologies and become a resource for resolving field problems. Provide guidance in data logging and measurement techniques.
To conduct and implement risk assessments of all development work and to ensure a safe environment is maintained at all times.
To carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by the company.

Essential Requirements :
The role would ideally suit somebody who is keen to apply their engineering skills in a variety of ways within a small company where they will be able to see the fruits of their work implemented on site in short time scales.You will be educated to at least HNC level and have gained some practical (hands on) experience in a mechanical engineering environment as part of a work based project, work experience placement, internship or year out in business.

Practical with desire to be hands on involved in validation/functional testing.
Some site visits to customers and or suppliers may be involved so candidate must be able to be drive and has to have the flexibility to work outside normal office hours as required.

Desirable Requirements :
It would be desirable for the candidate to have some experience of working in a industry supplying machinery for use in a high production environment (i.e. automotive) where reliability of production equipment is high through a work placement or year out.
It would be an advantage if you can demonstrate and evidence in your online application that you are able to:
Understand of the principals of measurement and testing.
Be familiar with instrumentation, electronic and electrical measurement techniques
Have some time served (higher apprenticeship), or previous work experience
Have good communication skills and be able to produce technical reports to a high standard.
Be familiar with e-mail, word-processing and presentation software.
It would be also desirable for the candidate to have knowledge and use of links between CAD systems and Analysis tools (e.g. CAD to Excel)
Have a knowledge of pneumatics, electrical components and or hydraulics, but not essential
Have some experience with data acquisition and data logging (PC based and dedicated hardware).
Any involvement with the following would also be desirable:- Design for Manufacture, Value Engineering or FMEA
