Projektbeschreibung

Are you a 1st or a 2:1 degree level graduate looking for secondary teaching experience as a Teaching Assistant?

Are you looking for a career in education and want to gain your experience as a Teaching Assistant in a newly refurbished secondary school?

*** Graduate Teaching Assistant - History
*** 1 or 2 year contracts available!
*** £16,070 - £18,037 salary!
*** September 2013 start date!
*** Restructured Birmingham Secondary School!
*** Possible teacher training opportunity!
*** Exciting School Redevelopment Programme!
*** Good experience prior to starting a secondary PGCE/Teach First!

We are seeking an enthusiastic and ambitious Teaching Assistant/Intervention Assistant to appoint to this exciting new role at this fantastic multicultural secondary school from September 2013.

The successful applicant will be committed to raising the achievement of all learners by ensuring teaching/support across the History curriculum is of the highest quality and is innovative, engaging and enjoyable.

The school is much larger than the average secondary school. Just over a third of its students are female. Almost half the students are known to be eligible for free school meals. Most students are from minority ethnic backgrounds, with the largest group being Pakistani, accounting for over two thirds of students. Over four fifths of students speak English as an additional language. The number of disabled students and those who have special educational needs is above the national average.

Despite previous low attainment, the progress students make has been improving and is now good, with achievement gaps narrowing due to highly effective, focussed and rigorous monitoring processes (positive and significant value added within RaiseOnline). Our positive Ofsted Inspection (March 2012) found the school to have good capacity to sustain and extend existing improvements. 70% of teaching was considered either good or outstanding.

The school can offer:

• a new structure from September 2013 to accelerate improvement and support your vision
• a friendly and well-resourced department located in a highly attractive learning environment
• a competitive recruitment and retention package for a candidate with appropriate experience
• outstanding professional development opportunities

If you are looking for the experience, if teaching in a Secondary school before you commit to a PGCE in 2014/2015 then you could be an ideal candidate.

The SENCo will only see candidates with the drive and inspiration that matches their current teaching assistants!
