Talented English graduate required for a Teaching Assistant role in a high achieving Secondary School (11-18) in Manchester!

Do you have a degree in English language, literature, education studies or similar?

Are you due to start a secondary PGCE in September 2013? Or are you looking to apply in 2014?

Do you have any teaching assistant experience, on a paid or voluntary basis?

Have you helped students in KS3/KS4 prepare for exams and followed the national curriculum?

My high achieving Client Secondary School in the Manchester area want to add a teaching assistant with a strong academic background and a focus on English to their department…This is an excellent opportunity working with targeted students in lower sets!

With a view to starting immediately if possible, my Client High School are looking to add a talented teaching assistant to their English department on a full time basis until the end of academic year. The role will mainly be working with students who need extra support, individually on a 1:1 and sometimes a 1:2 basis. To be considered and successful for this role, you will need to have;

**A strong academic record, from GCSE through to your Degree
**Confidence and an enthusiastic and determined attitude
**Experience as a teaching assistant, preferably in a Secondary School
**The ability to engage pupils fully who have fallen behind in their studies

As a Teaching Assistant you will report directly to the Head of department in English, using controlled assessment methods and monitoring progress of targeted pupils. This is a role which requires an ambitious candidate, ideally you will have the ambition to become a teacher or similar.

Located in a quiet area just south of central Manchester, the Schools intake of pupils are predominantly from a white British heritage. Access to the School is easy from central Manchester, located along the metro link line just 20 minutes from Piccadilly.

The School was last graded as good by Ofsted with the potential to become outstanding. Teaching is good in all areas with some outstanding elements, you will benefit from working in a successful English department with a friendly team of teaching and support staff.

The successful candidate for this role will ideally be able to begin straight away, however the School have said they are willing to wait until February half term. If you have a current CRB check and think you'd be perfect for this role , do not hesitate to apply.
