Job Title: Graduate / Assistant Quantity Surveyor
Location: South West, Somerset, Bristol, Bridgwater, Taunton

Duration: Tempory & Permanent
Salary: Temp - 10 - 15 p/h
Perm - 18k - 22k + Package

Our client are a national market leading Civil Engineering main contractor who have been providing civil engineering services for well over 50 years and currently employ over 5,000 employees. They are currently looking for a Graduate Quantity Surveyor to join the team and carry out and assist with the procurement work on the Bristol water network.

Initially this is a freelance appointment for candidates to be taken on to learn and gain experience of the industry through our clients training programmes however, our client are looking to take on someone ambitious who is keen to strive forward and secure a permanent position. Candidates must have creative work ethics and be commercially aware and capable of working well within a team environment. Other key skills include:

Sound mathematical and technical skills
Ability to think methodically, to assist preparing tenders and contract documents
Assist taking cost analysis for repair and maintenance project work
Assist with with risk and value management and cost control
Assist with advising on procurement strategy, negotiation, identifying and developing response to to commercial risks
Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Qualifications - You must have A degree or similar technical qualifications within Civil Engineering is preferred, and have experience of the industry. Good knowledge and Experience within the water sector is preferable but not essential.
