GRADUATE BUYER/PURCHASING ASSISTANT - WEST MIDLANDS - AUTOMOTIVE

JOB TITLE: Graduate Buyer/Purchasing Assistant

An exciting opportunity for a Graduate Buyer/Purchasing Assistant has arisen with my client, one of the world's largest Automotive manufactures. My client has ambitious plans to grow in the global automotive market place through the development of world class products. The Buyer is sought to assist the established purchasing teamand be responsible for the successful execution of purchasing activities against tight deadlines.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Working as a part of a Purchasing and Commercial Team, supported by the Team and Purchasing Manager

- Liaising with other members of the team, internal customers, suppliers and contractors.
- Responsible for leading and coordinating of sourcing activities within Portfolio.
- Responsible for delivery of bought in goods and services at the lowest ultimate cost.
- Supplier base quality, technology, service and delivery optimisation.
- Responsible for issue of invitation to tenders, analysis of bids received, preparation of contractual documents and drafting reports.
- Following Purchasing strategies & processes.
- Ensuring the right contractual conditions are in place to manage the company's risk.
- Raise Purchasing orders on the SAP IT system.
- Supplier base rationalisation.
- Conduct supplier evaluation and selection.
- Support Business plan, specifically in the area of Cost reduction.

SKILL AND EXPERIENCE:

A proven Learner and Performer looking to develop a Commercial base to their career who is self-motivated, organised & flexible. The successful candidate will be culturally aware, & possess the gravitas to build credibility and relationships with both internal and external parties.

- Graduate Calibre.
- Chinese and English Language skills would be a distinct advantage to facilitate Company and Purchasing Target achievement
- Computer Literate - Microsoft Office packages - Excel, Word & PowerPoint. Help and training will be given.
- Training will be available.
- Good negotiation skills will be developed in the role.
- Purchasing experience in a fast moving environment would be an advantage
