Projektbeschreibung

The postholders will support the Governing Body Secretary in:

*ensuring that the clients corporate affairs are undertaken to the highest standards of probity, and according to all relevant statutory and regulatory requirements;
*providing the secretariat support function for the clients committees and executive management;
*ensuring that appropriate and effective policies, plans, systems and processes are in place for risk management (including the Assurance Framework), information governance, business continuity, and the management of conflicts of interest;
*ensuring that procedures for the appointment of Governing Body members, both lay and elected, are in place and are followed.

Corporate governance:

To assist the Governing Body Secretary in maintaining a robust corporate governance framework which ensures compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, corporate governance standards, codes of conduct and recommended best practice. This includes contributing to the periodic review and updating of the CCG's constitution, Standing Orders, and Scheme of Reservation and Delegation.

Essentials:

To provide support and guidance to committee members, and to management and staff, both as individuals and collectively, supporting them in the discharge of their responsibilities with respect to good governance, prudence, and propriety.

Knowledge and understanding of NHS corporate governance.

Knowledge and understanding of risk management and/or information governance and/or business continuity

A good understanding of the health and social care environment and roles and responsibilities within it.

Ability to engage effectively with stakeholders in order to understand their needs and to develop appropriate solutions.

Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate with a range of people on a range of matters in an appropriate form, clarifying important messages.

Ability to analyse and interpret information, evaluate issues, and recommend an appropriate course of action to address the issues.

Experience of corporate governance matters within the NHS.

Experience of providing secretariat support to directors and senior managers.

Experience of risk management and/or information governance and/or business continuity.

Experience of writing complex minutes to a high standard.

Educated to degree or Masters degree level in relevant subject, or equivalent level of experience

Risk management:

To lead the process for the identification, evaluation and mitigation of risk across the whole organisation, in accordance with regulatory requirements and best practice, including working with risk leads to identify and collate evidence of mitigation and assurance.

Information governance:

To be responsible for achieving level two or higher on the Information Governance Toolkit submission, including obtaining and collating comprehensive supporting evidence for each category so that scores are upheld on audit.

To identity and report information governance breaches, where necessary co-operating with local, national or regulatory investigations into breaches.

To provide support and advice on information governance to member practices and other key stakeholders, including patient groups.

Business Continuity:

To maintain an up to date business continuity plan, participate in local and regional business continuity fora, and to lead on tests and exercises to ensure plans are fit for purpose.
