Governance Analyst - 3 Months - East Sussex

We are currently recruiting for a Governance Analyst in East Sussex for an initial 3 month contract.

Rate is £200-£230 per day.

This is a new role which combines financial governance controls with contract management as well as secretariat duties for key operational and management meetings. The successful candidate will act as a point of reference on all matters relating to financial and contractual governance to a wide range of stakeholders.

Principle Accountabilities
To review and control the governance requirements
Support the Governance Manager in processing opportunities through the governance process/wider business governance processes
Drive the accurate presentation and completion of handover to ensure effective deployment
Proactively and independently design and deliver process improvements for key Governance activities To support the Governance Manager with secretariat duties for financial approval, brokerage, steering and operational meetings
To act as a point of reference and first port of call on Governance related matters for the wider team and offer support and guidance to colleagues
Keep accurate records and reports of opportunities Assist the Governance Manager in the presentation of papers for a range of meetings with senior

Qualifications and Skills
Educated to degree standard or a demonstration of ability to the same level delivered in a working environment
Proven experience of working in a control environment. Ability to challenge appropriately to ensure controls are observed
Experience of working with high value framework contracts
Experience of reviewing and improving complex processes and procedures
A track record of working with attention to detail and precision at all times
Experience of, maintaining and documenting key actions and decisions at a senior level
Proven ability to work to multiple deadlines and effectively manage stakeholder expectations
Strong communication skills and ability to influence and share new or complex concepts
Demonstration of ability to use Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Powerpoint to a high level Technical and Commercial Knowledge and Skills
Able to work effectively and comfortably in multiple Matrix structures where working relationships are more important than organisational structures in delivering results.
Strong numerical and analytical skills.
Able to understand different business units and to work across them with effective relationship building, persuasion and influencing skills at all organisational levels.
Ability to resolve conflicting priorities and to work under significant pressures.
An ability to quickly gain a thorough understanding of markets and sectors [such as the energy sector] and different technical specialism's
Able to identify and deliver efficiency improvements.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience of using SAP for purchasing/reporting would be beneficial in this role
