Global IT Cloud Network Engineer

We are searching for a Network Engineer to fulfil multiple responsibilities in support of the Managed Services and Cloud Migration strategy.

This individual will actively support this strategy through a combination of technical skill, architectural and financial analysis and vendor management. This role will include responsibility for ensuring delivery of cloud-based services: Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) and Managed Services by our Cloud partners through regular measurement and reporting. Responsibility for the daily operations, health and maintenance of all on premise network infrastructure is included.

The ideal candidate will bring 7 - 10 years' experience in network administration and management. The candidate should have a grasp on current and emerging network technologies including virtualization of all networking components; SD-Wan, Switches and Firewalls. The candidate must demonstrate a team attitude and a keen interest in the success of others as well as possess strong communication and collaboration skills.

- The ability to follow established procedures for Change Management, implementation, operations and escalations
- Proven ability to execute multiple tasks efficiently and effectively.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Agile project methodology experience a plus
- Network design and implementation as it relates to Virtualization and Storage
- Troubleshoot issues regarding capacity, uptime, escalated issues and quality
- Establish and report on operational monitoring, event triggers and alerting
- Responsible for capacity utilization, trending and forecast reporting.
- Ensure Cloud Service delivery is per SLA; managing provider relationship effectively
- Excellent planning, organizational, analytical, problem solving, and prioritizing skills.
- Ability to make sound decisions and work well under pressure.
- Ensure that network assets in a hybrid environment are identified and maintained to appropriate patch revisions and security policies applied.
- Normal business hours with flexibility to support maintenance windows and on-call support.
- Understanding of the ITIL Service Management framework

- Current CCNA and/or CCDA certification or equivalent job experience
- Work directly with the internal customers and their provider partners to assist with Incident resolution, tool/content deployment and solution delivery.
- Regularly performs growth analysis and capacity planning in support of upgrades
- Perform post incident root cause analysis, publish and archive documentation
- Possess a solid understanding of core networking concepts to include routing and switching.
- Knowledge of Cisco Routers, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), Switching
- Knowledge of Juniper Routers and Switches
- Knowledge of network monitoring solutions (Solar Winds, Appneta, Riverbed Cascade/Opnet preferred).
- Working knowledge of Firewall technologies (Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Juniper SRX a plus).
- Experience with VoIP and Video required.
- Experience with Avaya phone systems a plus.
- Configure and setup Cisco or Sonicwall Firewalls, VPN Concentrators and Security appliances for access to vital business applications
- Design, setup and configure complex switching environments
- Design, setup and configure complex wireless networking that supports open or secured access and the ability to support voice and video applications
