Global Head of Leadership Development - 6 months - Warwick - Negotiable Daily Rate

A leading Energy and Utilities client of Hyphen is looking for a Global Head of Leadership Development to join a large scale recruitment drive within their Learning and Development area of the Business.

Job Purpose:- Working for the Global Head of Organisation Development, develop and lead the effective deployment of a global leadership development strategy which will enable the future success of the business by ensuring we have the right mix of leaders with the right skills and behaviours aligned to our strategic workforce planning, I and D and talent requirements.

Responsibilities:- *Provide thought leadership and strategic vision to direct the work of the team - work closely with the Lead HRBPs and their teams to draw out the leadership elements of their people plans
*Working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders - the Corporate Strategy team, the Global Talent and I & D Manager and the Lead HRBPs and their teams, develop and deploy a global leadership development strategy to enable business performance
*Seeking input from the Corporate Strategy team, the Academy Board and the Lead HRBPs, ensure we are building the capabilities, business skills and behaviours required by the business to be successful today but also creating the capability strategy of the future aligned to our strategic ambitions.
*Build a strong network with peers from other large organisations and scan the external market for best practice against which we can benchmark our own frameworks, programmes and approaches in an effort to continuously improve the way we develop our leaders in National Grid
*Create strategic partnerships with key educational institutions and third party providers to optimise the blend of internal and external leadership development opportunities within the Academy
*Building on work already undertaken to date, finalise the National Grid leadership framework which clearly defines levels of leadership, the expectations we have of our leaders as well as offering core programmes across each leadership level to support their development.
*Lead a team of development and delivery specialists to ensure we are building programmes and interventions that enable our leaders to be the best they can. Ensure there is a blended learning approach and work to provide options under both the 70% and 20% learning methodologies by building communities of practice, networks and coaching capability across our leadership population.
*Ensure we have a robust evaluation process in place to evaluate the effectiveness of these programmes and to inform continuous improvement opportunities
*Build a cadre of leaders as teachers across the organisation to build capability and to encourage visible senior advocacy of leadership development
Act as the guardian of our Core Capabilities, Business Skills and Leadership Qualities and seek ongoing feedback from key stakeholders to ensure these remain aligned to our business context and fit for purpose. Embed these capabilities, skills and behaviours into key HR processes across the employee life cycle
*Work with the Global Process and Performance Data and Analytics team to inform the leadership data requirements, specific metrics and benchmarks to enable the development of meaningful insights around the leadership agenda and share these organisational wide insights with your talent and HRBP colleagues to help inform their people plans.

Knowledge, Experience and Technical Know How

*Deep expertise and experience in leadership development frameworks, processes and approaches ideally gained in other large organisations
*Knowledge of, and experience in designing, implementing and maintaining leadership programmes and other learning interventions
*Strategic thought leadership with the ability to turn that thinking into a clear vision and executable plan
*Comfortable operating at a strategic level but also able to execute effectively and at pace
*Ability to influence others (up to and including Executive Committee members) - evidence of excellent relationship building ability across a wide variety of audiences and situations.
*Excellent networking and collaboration skills - able to use that network to facilitate benchmarking and best practice research.
*Experience of managing projects or programs of work.
*Demonstrate a sound level of commercial acumen to create a business aligned leadership development strategy.
*Ability to bring creative and innovative approaches to the business

*Significant budgetary experience and proven ability to drive real value from commercial partnerships

*Knowledge and Experience of learning methods and understanding of industry best practices

*Ability to inspire and enthuse a team, especially during the early stages of its development
