GLOBAL DATA PROTECTION ARCHITECT MILWAUKEE, WI 6 MONTH CONTRACT

We have an open position for a Global Data Protection Architect. The Data Protection Architects role is to maintain a stable, predictable, and scalable backup and recovery environment for the delivery of IT solutions.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

- Architect backup designs based on internal customer requirements for integrations and acquisitions
- Evaluate and implement new Backup and Recovery storage hardware and software technologies
- Drive long range road mapping and ensure consistency with business objectives for resiliency, disaster tolerance, and regulatory compliance
- Work directly with the global Data Protection Lead and establish operating mechanism for weekly communication, strategy, and problem & resolution management
- Provide operational project level management in the planning, design, and implementation for hardware/software lease refreshes, migrations and new site acquisitions of data protection systems
- Lead Data Protection Capacity Planning and trending and implement plan to address capacity needs
- Automate the delivery of backup solutions
- Provide L4 support to L2 and L3 support teams
- Be aware of and comply with the Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply
- Lead process improvements and maintain the Data Protection quality framework

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- BS/BA in Computer Science or in related field, or a minimum 5 years of experience with server or storage technologies
- Minimum 2 years of architecting backup/recovery solution
- Minimum 3 years of administration experience with Symantec NetBackup
- Installing and configuring NetBackup clients and agents
- Installing and configuring NetBackup master, media Servers and agents
- Advanced troubleshooting of backup and restore failures using log file analysis
- Minimum 3 years of experience with Windows, Solaris, Linux and VMWare
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in large scale enterprise environments with backup and storage technologies

PREFERRED:

- Architecture and installation experience with DataDomain, Symantec Appliances or MSDP
- Working knowledge of Aptare Storage Console
- Passionate about Backup and Recovery infrastructure technology and stays current with industry trends
- Experience in vendor management for one or more suppliers
- Proven written/verbal communication skills
- Experience working in ASP or PACS data Centers
- Project Management experience
- Working well within a team environment and communicating to a diverse set of colleagues
- Self-motivation
- GxP, FDA, Sarbanes-Oxley and other regulatory compliance experience
